Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Bharat’ has been making waves ever since the project was announced by the makers. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is one of the most awaited films of next year, all thanks to its star-studded cast and intriguing plot. The makers are leave no stone unturned to shoot the film on a large-scale and they have already completed their shooting schedules in Abu Dhabi and Malta. The Bigg Boss 12 host and the film’s team have now headed to Punjab where they will be shooting for the next eight days.

A report in a leading daily suggested that the makers have re-created Wagah border in Ludhiana. The team had to shoot for a few scenes at Wagah border but it was not possible considering security reasons and hence they have built a gigantic set for the Punjab leg of the shoot.

“The film will span across seven decades and will also capture the evolution of India, along with its main leading character (played by Salman). The team had to film a few portions at the Wagah border, but it wasn’t feasible for security reasons,” a source told DNA.

“Producer Atul Agnihotri and Ali have envisioned the film in a certain way and they are making sure it looks like a visual extravaganza. They have recreated the Wagah border in Ludhiana where Salman and Katrina will be shooting for the next eight days, starting today,” the source further told the daily.

At a time when Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh’s wedding is hogging all the limelight, director Zafar had shared a sneak peek of the Maut Ka Kuwan sequence last week. Salman Khan had shot for the action sequence along with stunt men from Uttar Pradesh.

‘Bharat’ will see Salman as a circus performer and the actor will don five different looks for the film.

The flick co-starring Disha Patani, Tabu, Nora Fatehi, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, will hit the cinema theatres on Eid next year.
