New Delhi: Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee shared an open letter, which was addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, after a food delivery platform failed to deliver his order after confirming it. His recent Twitter post captured the attention of the netizens as he complained about his undelivered Diwali order. The talented artist, fondly known as Bumba Da, said that he wanted to draw the attention of the two political leaders to the matter as anyone could ‘face this issue’.

Prosenjit Complains To PM Modi, CM Mamata About Food Delivery Platform

Prosenjit took to Twitter to request PM Modi and the Trinamool Congress leader to look into the issue as he believed that people, who order food through such apps, may face disappointment if the order is not delivered. On Saturday (November 6), the 59-year-old posted the open letter on his official Twitter handle, expressing his experience while ordering food from Swiggy. He said that status of the food changed to ‘delivered’ on the app even though he didn’t receive it.

The ‘Chokher Bali’ actor clarified that Swiggy refunded his money after he raised a complaint with the food delivery platform. He said that he felt that it was 'necessary' to talk about the issue.

“Respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Respected Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Festive greetings. Hope you are keeping well. I want to draw your attention to an issue I have recently faced. On 3rd November, I placed an order on food delivery app Swiggy. After some time, the status of the order changed to delivered but I never received the food. After raising the issue with Swiggy, they refunded me the money since the order was prepaid,” Prosenjit’s open letter rad.

He further said that he decided to bring it to the notice of the two political biggies as people, who are dependent on such apps for their dinner, will face disappointment if the food delivery platform fails to deliver the order.

“However, I wanted to draw your attention because I feel anybody can face this issue. What if someone relies on a food app to get food delivered for their guests and the food never arrives? What if someone is depending on these food apps for their dinner? Will they stay hungry? There can be many such situations. Thus, I felt it was necessary to talk about it. Regards, Prosenjit Chatterjee,” the actor added.
