After teasing with the posters ahead of trailer release yesterday and trending on social media, the makers finally release the very gripping trailer of 'Batti Gul Meter Chalu' starring Shraddha Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor in lead and 'Pyaar Ka Punchnama' fame Divyendu Sharma playing a very pivotal role in this very inspiring story.

Trailer begins with a voice singing in background "generator ke bharosa tthehra aane wala kal, batti gul hai meter chalu shock na lag jaye bal" and the small town in Uttarakhand faces a power cut. And the story ahead reveals how the town is dependent on generator provided electricity and the happy story of the three friends played by Shahid, Shraddha and Divyendu. It doesn't however end in the same manner.

Shahid plays a corrupt lawyer named Vimal Bisht who lives a happy life taking bribe while Shraddha as ' Lalita "Nauti" Nautiyal' plays his love interest in the film. Divyendu beautifully plays their friend who decided to open a factory amid power cuts in their Uttarakhand town and then electricity board wrongly sends him a bill with a huge amount of 54 lakh.

The characters perfectly portray the small town residents with their diction and dialogues like when Divyendu goes to the electricity board and throws the bill at their table, yelling, "54 lakh ka bill aaya tthehra".

At most of the places in the trailer however, the dialogues aren't clear as the team seem to have gone overboard with the usage of the small town lingo.

Divyendu commits suicide and this shatters Shahid who then sets on the journey to avenge friend's death and pulls board to court.

With good punchlines and sweet-to-the-ears dialogue and the tragic touch in the story, the film gives a social message addressing a common man's problem from a small town. Shahid Kapoor's dance moves are the icing on the cake while Shraddha quite manages to match up to it too.

Veteran actors Farida Jalal, Supriya Pilgaonkar and Sudhir Pandey with their strong screen presence make it all the more worthy. Yami Gautam plays a lawyer who fights against Shahid in the court.

The 3 minutes long trailer is sure worth the hype created around it and surely worth the wait.
