A group of Bajrang Dal workers vandalised a mall in Ahmedabad when they went on a rampage during the promotion of Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming movie 'Pathaan'. The workers were captured in a video damaging the property of the mall during their protest.

In a video shared by the VHP, activists could be seen shouting slogans and tearing posters as well as large cut-outs of Pathaan's star cast.

Gujarat VHP had earlier said it will not allow the screening of the film anywhere in Gujarat, mainly because of the song 'Besharam Rang', where Padukone is seen wearing a saffron dress while dancing with Khan.

"We will not allow Pathaan's screening in Gujarat. Today's protest against the movie's release in Ahmedabad should be taken as a warning by all the theatre owners across the state. They must stay away from releasing the movie in their theatres or multiplexes," said Gujarat VHP spokesperson Hitendrasinh Rajput.

Besharam Rang Row: Child Welfare Body Urges UP DGP To Remove SRK-Deepika Starrer Pathaan Song From Social Media

The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) has been strongly urged to have the clips of the 'Pathaan' movie song 'Besharam Rang' and other obscene contents removed from social media. The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of Bahraich district claimed that they are having a "detrimental impact on the psyche of adolescents".

The Child Welfare Committee, Bahraich (bench of magistrate), has written to the DGP invoking the authority granted by the pertinent section of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 to report that it has taken a suo moto notice of obscene contents, including the 'Besharam Rang' song, that are being shared on social media.

Satish Kumar Srivastava, the president of the Bahraich CWC, and a four-member bench made up of Deepmala Pradhan, Archana Pandey, and Navneet Mishra stated in a letter sent to the DGP that the Uttar Pradesh government had given teenagers smart phones for their all-around development and that they could not be prevented from viewing widely accessible content.

“In such a situation, it is necessary in the best interest of the children that obscene content should be removed from social media,” the letter said.

Following the release of the song 'Besharam Rang', which features Deepika and Shah Rukh, on December 12, the movie "Pathaan" has been in the headlines and is the target of boycott demands. The song is drawing criticism for its lyrics and the heroine's skimpy saffron outfit.

Due to all of these factors, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) instructed the film's creators to make "changes" to the movie, including the songs, before it was released.

On Wednesday, it was announced that the makers of the spy thriller 'Pathaan', starring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan, will release its trailer on January 10, 2023.
