Mumbai: ‘Baahubali’ created a phenomenon and changed Indian cinema forever. The first part of the ‘Baahubali’ series was released 6 years ago today. The movie proved to be a huge success and people from all around the globe appreciated the director for bringing to screens such an interesting and engaging story for the audience.

The story of ‘Baahubali’ (both parts) was conceived by S.S. Rajamouli’s father K.V. Vijayendra Prasad, who is also the writer of ‘Thalaivi’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and others.

One of the greatest stories ever told, Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali’ tells a fascinating mythological story. The idea of making this epic movie was Rajamouli’s interest in mythology. When his father K.V. Vijayendra randomly told him a story about Sivagami, a woman who carries a baby in her hand while crossing a river. His father also told him about Kattappa a few years later. This intrigued Rajamouli to make a movie and then, the rest is history.

Well, as ‘Baahubali’ completed 6 years of its release today, Prabhas, who played the role of the protagonist in this movie shared a still from the movie and raised a toast to the team who created waves. While sharing the post, the ‘Adipurush’ actor wrote, “#6YearsOfBaahubali: Here's to the team that created waves of cinematic magic all across the country and the world”.

Rana Daggubati portrayed the role of the main antagonist in both parts of the movie. The ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ actor also shared a still from the movie on his Instagram story to mark 6 years of this brilliant movie.

Apart from Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ also featured Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. The movie broke several records and became the highest-grossing dubbed film in India.
