New Delhi: Bollywood actress Ayesha Takia’s husband and SP leader Abu Azmi’s son Farhan Azmi has filed a complaint at the Colaba police station after he received some threat calls from an unknown person. A leading daily quoted Azmi saying that the caller claimed to be from the Hindu Sena and allegedly told him that his family would be targeted and killed for he married a Hindu woman.

Farhan has submitted a written application to the Mumbai police commissioner wherein he has requested them to conduct a proper investigation for the same. Police officers confirmed to a leading daily that Farhan submitted them an application and the phone recordings of the threatening calls.  “This is a serious matter and should be investigated as we are living under threat,” Farhan said.  Farhan recently hit headlines after he came out in support of his dad who had passed a horribly sexist comment after the Bengaluru molestation case came in light. Azmi slammed actors like Esha Gupta and Farhan Akhtar for defending women’s right to wear whatever they want.

Samajwadi Party’s Maharashtra Unit Chief Abu Azmi had said, “If a girl celebrates after dark she should go with her husband, father and not with strangers. There should be strict action against those going against our culture.”

When Ayesha Takia was asked on this, she said, “I don’t think I need to share my opinion all the time. I have moved past that phase, because as a family, we have made peace with the fact that we cannot agree with each other on everything.”
