New Delhi: The James Cameron–directed visual spectacular 'Avatar: The Way of Water' opened in cinemas last year throughout the world. The movie quickly become the highest-grossing movie since the pandemic and the third-highest-grossing film of all time with a worldwide total of $2.3 billion. The digital premiere of Avatar 2 will air on Disney+ Hotstar on June 7, 2023, more than five months after the film's initial distribution throughout the globe. 


The official announcement was made on Tuesday on the social media channels of the streaming giant. A poster for the film was included with the caption, “Avatar: The Way of Water is streaming June 7 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.”






James Cameron's return to the planet of Pandora in ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is an emotionally charged action adventure that goes to new heights and explores new depths. The movie begins the tale of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their children) more than a decade after the events of the first film, detailing the lengths they go to in order to keep each other safe, the struggles they face in order to remain alive, and the tragedies they experience.


'Avatar: The Way of Water' stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Kate Winslet, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver. The film's executive producers are David Valdes and Richard Baneham. The sequel earned strong reviews from critics. 


Over a decade after 'Avatar's release, 'Avatar: The Way of Water' premiered in Indian theatres on December 16, 2022. 13 years after the first blockbuster, the sequel indeed created much hype among the audience.
