New Delhi: Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, who will make his digital debut with ‘The Final Call’, has been slapped with a criminal case over non-payment of dues. According to a report in a leading daily, YT Entertainment Limited has filed a complaint against the ‘Ra.One’ actor for not repaying Rs 1 crore with 12 per cent interest per annum. The ‘Daddy’ actor had taken a loan on May 9 from the company and he promised to clear the dues within 90 days.
The company filed criminal complaint against the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actor under the Negotiable Instruments Act after the post-dated cheque given by him was dishonoured.
“The company is also into funding films and Rampal was given the loan on a rate lower than what most people in the industry are usually given. But the post-dated cheque given to the company was dishonoured and now they have filed a criminal complaint against Rampal under the Negotiable Instruments Act for the recovery of the money,” a source told Deccan Chronicle.
The report further added that the company will have the right over the money paid to Rampal till the time the dues are recovered.
Arjun Rampal, who was last seen in the film 'Paltan', is currently busy shooting for 'Nastik'.
