Janhvi Kapoor’s debut film ‘Dhadak’ is doing reasonably well at the box office and has managed to win the hearts of the audience. Boney Kapoor is a proud dad and he has finally opened on the difficulties faced by Janhvi when her mother Sridevi passed away during the shooting of the film and how his four children supported each other during the unfortunate family tragedy. While talking to an entertainment portal, the filmmaker revealed that he slept well before Dhadak’s release as he was confident the film would do well.


‘’I was very sure of the start that Dhadak will get, I knew it will be lapped up. It had been a long time since we had a real good love story,’’ Boney told SpotboyE.

Talking about his four children, the Mr. India producer said that he is blessed to have them in his life.

“I am blessed to have these four. They love each other a lot and I am glad that they have come together. It was due to happen anytime, it just happened when something unfortunate happened. They are all my blood and they had to come around,’’ Boney told the portal.

The ‘Wanted’ producer gave credit to all his children but more to Arjun Kapoor as he is the eldest of them all. He added that the ‘Namastey England’ actor flew to Dubai to be be with him during Sridevi’s sudden demise.

‘’They have happened through two different mothers but why should they get affected? They need their father now, and I am going to be around them,’’ Kapoor told the portal.

The ‘Mom’ producer added that Janhvi shot for half of the Shashank Khaitan directorial post her mother’s death. He said that it requires a lot of courage to shoot for the film under such circumstances.

‘’It requires great courage in such conditions to play the part. I had always told her: Never try to act, just become the part. And she did!,’’ Kapoor told the portal.

On the professional front, Boney Kapoor has announced his next project based on the life of legendary Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Ajay Devgn will play the role of Syed, who is regarded as the architect of modern Indian football. The upcoming biopic co-starring Joy Sengupta is yet to be titled.
