New Delhi: Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, last seen in ‘Zero’ opposite Shah Rukh Khan, has turned a year older on Friday (May 1). Several Bollywood celebs including Sonam Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Varun Dhawan have showered the ‘ PK’ actress with warm birthday wishes. Anushka penned a hard-hitting poem and shared it on social media with her followers.

The ‘Sui Dhaaga’ actress bared her heart out and talked about the suffering and sadness in the world due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The COVID-19 outbreak has severely affected the functioning of many countries including India.

Anushka shared the heart-wrenching poem along with the caption, "Today, I wish for all this to end." She said that she wants the suffering and sadness to end.

"I wish today, sadness dwindles

I wish today, suffering ends.

I know it may not all go away,

It does have its own part to play,

And the role it dawns comes at a price,

With tears and screams and even stifled cries.

I wish today, suffering ends,

Sadness and suffering have been friends.

Suffering is the second act

They play on the same life stage

Making you tumble, slip and fall.

But after that comes your rise,

And rise you will and be so wise.

I wish today, sadness dwindles.

I wish today, suffering ends," Anushka wrote.

Katrina Kaif and Mouni Roy dropped hearts emoji in the comment section. Singer Neeti Mohan wished the 'NH-10' actress and hoped her birthday wish comes true.

"May your Birthday wish come true. Wishing you a very Happy and BLESSED birthday. You are truly special," Neeti wrote.
