New Delhi: Anurag Kashyap is busy on the festival tour of his upcoming film 'Kennedy' which first premiered at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival 2023. The film is showing at Neuchatel International Fantastic Film Festival in Switzerland. 'Kennedy' stars Sunny Leone and Rahul Bhatt. Recently, Anurag shared an update from the film festival and shared that before every screening, audiences in the theatres will scream 'Baahubali', which is then echoed by others. As per the filmmaker, it is actually a ritual that is religiously followed almost before all screenings.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Anurag Kashyap shared clips from the film festival where the crowd cheers 'Baahubali' and wrote, "In Neuchatel at @nifffestival, their all-time favourite film is @ssrajamouli ‘s Bahubali… at every single screening, at all cinemas, before the film during the play of the ads, someone in the crowd always screams Baaaahubaaali and the rest of the crowd follows. The first time I thought it was a one-off and then it happened the second time. After this, I recorded the crowd screaming Bahubali at all screenings I went to. Here are four of those videos. Such is the love for Rajamouli and his film. The head of the festival told me that if he (Rajamouli) actually ever came here, the audience will die of ecstasy. He is a true rock star at genre/fantastic festivals. Here is to you SSR. The four videos (sic).”
Soon after Anurag Kashyap shared the update, "I heard about this for years, thanks for recording it, I sent it to SSR!," he wrote.
For those unaware, 'Baahubali' was one of the biggest films of 2015 and again in 2017 when its sequel was released. The film starred Prabhas and Rana Daggubati in the lead. The two-part film broke many box office records worldwide. The film was also very well received in Japan and China.
