Mumbai: South superstar Rajinikanth’s much-awaited film ‘Annaattthe’ has finally hit the silver screens on Thursday (November 4). The action drama has been making waves ever since the makers released the trailer. Trade pundits are expecting the movie to perform well at the box office and help in reviving the theatrical business, which has been severely affected due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Several fans took to social media to express their thoughts after watching the first day show of ‘Annaatthe’. While majority of the fans lauded Rajinikanth for his power-packed performance, others expressed their disappointment with the film’s execution and said that excessive melodrama failed to keep them engaged.

Amitabh Bachchan Wishes Rajinikanth For 'Annaatthe'
The Bollywood megastar shared a post on Instagram to extend wishes to Rajinikanth for the success of his new film, which released on Diwali 2021. Big B wrote, "Rajni .. wishing you as always the grandest of wishes .. keep well .. and keep prospering."
For the unversed, Rajinikanth and Amitabh worked in 'Hum', which also starred Govinda and Anupam Kher.
'Annaatthe' Box Office Collection
If remains to be seen if the mixed reviews will affect the box office collection of the film or not. 'Annaatthe' will face competition from Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif starrer 'Sooryavanshi and Marvel's 'Eternals', which are releasing on November 5.
