New Delhi: Actor Vardhan Puri signed three films after making his acting debut with the 2019 film 'Yeh Saali Aashiqui'. However, the pandemic led them to be shelved.

In an interview with Hindustan Times about his industry experience, the actor claimed to have met many persons who pretended to be connected to the film industry. The actor, who has worked as both an actor and an assistant director for a short while, went on to say that people take advantage of actors that offer work in return.

“Some people directly ask you for sexual favours, and say, ‘You pay me this much and I will get you this’. Someone would say, main aapko X, Y, Z se milaunga or woh aapke liye film likh rahe hain. And later, you learn that the person doesn’t even know the director and woh industry ka hissa hi nahin hain. They just try to make a quick buck,” Vardhan Puri revealed.

Speaking of his next films, Puri previously mentioned Vivek Agnihotri's 'Nautanki'.

However, Agnihotri reportedly said in an interview that he was "not associated with the film anymore." The director stated that he helped his colleague and friend actor Anupam Kher in filming the movie during the initial lockdown and even participated in the first cut out, but he had no knowledge of the finished product.

Vardhan Puri talked about the development and admitted that everything is going according to plan.

“That’s an old story. I’m not allowed to talk about it. Everything is great now and he (Agnihotri) is very proud of the film,” he said.

Besides 'Nautanki', Vardhan Puri is gearing up for Kunal Kohli's 'Bobby Aur Rishi Ki Love Story' starring Kaveri Kapur (the daughter of Shekhar Kapur), Sarim Momin's Aseq, and National Award-winning filmmaker Shantanu Anant Tambe's upcoming film, 'Dashmi'.
