New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut was conferred with the Padma Shri award for her excellence in the field of performing arts. The talented actress, who received rave reviews for her performance in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Panga’, dedicated her award to ‘every woman who dreams’. The ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ actress expressed gratitude for the honour and thanked the country for the recognition.


"I’m humbled and I’m honored. I thank my country for this recognition and I dedicate this to every woman who dares to dream. To every daughter to every mother... and to the dreams of women who will shape the future of our country," Kangana said in a statement.


Alia Bhatt congratulated Kangana Ranaut on being conferred with the prestigious award and sent her flowers. Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel took a dig at Alia’s gesture on social media.

Sharing pictures of the bouqet, Rangoli tweeted, “Yeh dekho Alia ji ne bhi Kangana ko phool bheje hain, Kangana ka pata nahin magar mujhe bahut maza aa raha hai.”

Her tweet received mixed reactions and several users slammed Rangoli for taking a dig at Alia Bhatt.


Alia Bhatt, while talking to an entertainment portal, reacted to Rangoli Chandel’s indirect jibe on her.

“Let them react the way they want to. I am happy for Kangana,” the ‘Raazi’ actress told Bollywood Hungama.

From calling her performance in 'Gully Boy', to accusing her for being Karan Johar's puppet, Kangana Ranaut has often taken potshots at Alia Bhatt. The statements made by Kangana had set several tongues wagging.
