New Delhi: Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar's mother Aruna Bhatia is seriously ill and has been admitted to Hiranandani Hospital in Powai, Mumbai.


Akshay Kumar arrived in Mumbai from London early today to take care of his ailing mother who is in a critical condition in the hospital. Akshay Kumar, who was busy shooting for his upcoming film 'Cinderella' in London for the last few weeks, left his shooting and rushed to Mumbai to meet his mother.


A source confirmed that Akshay Kumar has left his shooting of ‘Cinderella’ in London due to his mother’s illness and returned to Mumbai. The source told ABP News, “Akshay Kumar has taken special permission from 'Cinderella' producer Vashu Bhagnani to take care of his ailing mother.” The source further added that the ‘BellBottom’ actor has also spoken about continuing the filming of parts of the film which can be done in his absence.


On a related note, when Akshay Kumar tested COVID-19 positive whole shooting for his upcoming movie ‘Ram Setu’, he was also admitted to Hiranandani Hospital in Powai.


Meanwhile, speaking on the work front, Akshay Kumar has been last seen featuring in a lead role in ‘BellBottom’, which became the first big budget movie to release in theatres after the country after the nationwide lockdown was imposed in the country last year. He also has a number projects lined up for release. He will be next seen featuring in ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Bachchan Pandey’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’, ‘Prithviraj’, ‘Atrangi Re’, Cinderella’ and ‘OMG – Oh my God! 2’.
