New Delhi: Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey's death in March, this year, sent the entire industry into a state of shock. The UP born actress who was in Varanasi for her film's shoot, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her hotel room. On Friday, the Ghaziabad police has arrested the absconding accused in the actress' death.
As per news agency ANI, "Ghaziabad police have arrested Samar Singh, the absconding accused in Bhojpuri actress Akanksha Dubey's alleged suicide case from Ghaziabad. A case was registered under Sec 306 of IPC against two persons namely, Samar Singh, who is associated with Bhojpuri films, and Sanjay Singh, by the actress' mother."
Previously, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Sarnath) Gyan Prakash Rai told the media that no suicide note was recovered from the room and that it appeared to be a case of suicide.
However, Akanksha’s co-star Kajal Raghwani posted a photo of Akanksha and claimed that she had not died by suicide. In Hindi, the actress wrote,"Your fear was proved right today, and you let your fear win over your bravery. You shared your feelings with everyone before going to the second shooting. Now the thing you were afraid of, the thing you were worried about, will not happen."
In a cryptic note, Kajal hinted that Akanksha's death was connected to issues with her love life.
Dubey starred in several regional films, including ‘Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki 2’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (Bhojpuri) and ‘Veeron ke Veer’.
