Mumbai: Today, on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn shared an unseen throwback picture with his father Veeru Devgn. The ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ actor also penned down a heartfelt note saluting his father on this special day of celebrating one’s spiritual and academic guru.


Ajay Devgn wrote while sharing, “Saluting my father (Veeru Devgn), my Guru, on this auspicious day. I was fortunate to get my life and career lessons from him. A valued gift that I carry with me like a badge of honour #GuruPurnima”.

Veeru Devgn was a well-known action director in the Indian film industry. He has worked in more than 200 films in his career including ‘Mr. Natwarlal’, ‘Dilwale’ (1994), ‘Roti Kapda Aur Makaan’, ‘Kranti’, ‘Prem Rog’, ‘Phool Aur Kaate’ and others. He is also the director of the 1999 film ‘Hindustan Ki Kasam’ which starred Ajay Devgn, Amitabh Bachchan, Manisha Koirala and Sushmita Sen. He was also the producer of this movie. Veeru Devgn also acted in the 1981 film ‘Kranti’ in a small role.


Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is one of the biggest superstars of the Hindi film industry. Having appeared in more than 100 films in his career, the ‘Singham’ actor started his acting career in 1991 with ‘Phool Aur Kaante’. He is one of the highest-paid actors in the country.


Ajay Devgn has a number of projects lined up for release including ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’, ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Maidaan’, ‘RRR’, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mayday’.
