New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Friday (August 13). The ‘Singham’ actor, who is busy promoting ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’, took to social media to inform his followers that Singh watched some clips of his new film. Devgn shared a picture with the BJP leader on his official Twitter handle. 


“Honoured to meet the Honourable Minister of Defence, India, Shri Rajnath Singh ji. He saw some clips of Bhuj: The Pride of India. For me, it was a befitting platform to showcase the film, that captured India’s victory over Pakistan 50 years ago,” Ajay wrote on the micro-blogging site. Check out his tweet!



Rajnath Singh shared a tweet after meeting Ajay Devgn. He wished the B-town star success for his future projects. “Met with renowned Hindi Film actor @ajaydevgn today. He is a wonderful actor and a good human being. He has made a film depicting the heroic efforts of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 war. I wish him success in his future endeavours,” Singh tweeted. 



'Bhuj: The Pride Of India' is set against the backdrop of Indo-Pak 1971 war. Ajay Devgn is playing the role of IAQ Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, who reconstructed an IAF airbase with the help of his team members and 300 women from the local village of Madhapar. 


'Bhuj: The Pride Of India' premiered on Disney+Hotstar on August 13, 2021. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Nora Fatehi, Ammy Virk and Sharad Kelkar in key roles. The movie was originally slated to hit the silver screens on August 14, 2020; however, the makers decided to skip the theatrical release due to the COVID-19 crisis.


The period war film has received rave reviews from the critics and audience upon its release on OTT.
