New Delhi: Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, who is gearing up for the release of '83', dropped a picture with Kapil Dev on social media. The ‘Gully Boy’ actor posted a photo with the cricket legend on his official Instagram after attending a media event in Mumbai on Wednesday (December 22). 


Ranveer, who will be seen essaying the role of former Indian cricket team captain in 83’, shared a monochrome picture wherein the duo can be seen twinning with each other in black. He called Kapil an ‘icon’ while posting the photo on Instagram.

Mouni Roy, Huma Qureshi and other tinsel town celebs dropped comments on the post. Fans have also flooded the comments section with their messages. One user wrote, "Two icons in one frame."



After organizing the world premiere of ‘83’ at the Red Sea International Film Festival, the makers of the film held its grand premiere in Mumbai on Wednesday. The cast and the 1983 World Cup-winning team attended the premiere and watched the much-awaited flick ahead of its release. 


Ranveer posted a photo with former cricket players along with the caption, "The legends." 



83' Release Date


The highly anticipated flick will hit the silver screens on December 24, a day before Christmas 2021. The Kabir Khan directorial, which is based on India's 1983 Cricket World Cup victory, has managed to receive positive reviews from the critics. Trade pundits are confident that the movie will be able to strike a chord with the audience upon its release at the box office.


The makers are leaving no stone unturned to create buzz for '83' as it is one of the most awaited films of the year. Deepika Padukone will be seen essaying the role of Ranveer's on-screen wife in the sports drama. Movie buffs are quite excited to see DeepVeer together on the big screen after three-and-a-half years.
