New Delhi: ‘Adipurush’, starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, is struggling at the box office. Many people have spoken out against the film, and that backlash has now caught up with it at the box office. The Om Raut movie had a great opening weekend but had trouble drawing an audience after that. Even though the producers cut the price of tickets in half (Rs 112 per ticket), it still bombed at the box office. The box office for ‘Adipurush’ dropped on Monday, June 26.

Adipurush's box office earnings on its eleventh day show that the movie has reached a new all-time low and cannot possibly recover. On its second Monday in theatres, ‘Adipurush’ earned Rs 1.75 crore in India (early estimates), bringing its grand total to Rs 277.50 crore. The film's occupancy in Hindi on June 26 was 8.06 per cent.

It will be interesting to see if Prabhas' mythological drama still be able to make above Rs 300 crore.

The All India Cine Workers Association recently wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Mumbai Police Department to request that they file a case against the film's creators.

The letter read, "This letter is to draw your attention towards a movie called Adipurush which was released on 16th June 2023 in the theatres across India, have been hurting the sentiments of the Hindu religion and the people who believe and pray Bhagwan Ram, Maa Sita and RamSevak bhagwan Hanuman, the movie running in the theatres continues to depict the image of Bhagwan Ram and the entire Ramayan and the producers also want to make money selling discounted tickets across the multiplexes, which will send a wrong message about our learning and faith in the Ramayan."

The film review on ABP Live reads: One of the most crucial elements of a period drama or mythological movie is the style of speech used to set up the tone and era. The movie fails miserably in that department, to the point where even the scary and grave sequences are met with giggles. It is not on the shoulders of those watching.

Sunny Singh, Devdatta Nage, Vatsal Sheth, Sonal Chauhan, Siddhant Karnick, and Tejaswini Pandit are also featured in 'Adipurush'. In the movie, Prabhas plays Raghava, Kriti plays Janaki, and Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh.
