Actor-director Tariq Shah, who acted in films like ‘Janam Kundali’ and ‘Bahar Aane Tak’, passed away on Saturday (April 3) morning at a private hospital in Mumbai due to double pneumonia. He was the husband of the veteran actress Shoma Anand. Tariq was admitted to a hospital since the past few days as he was suffering from diabetes and other diseases.
Tariq also directed a TV serial titled ‘Kadwa Sach’. He worked in movies like ‘Bahaar Aane Tak’, ‘Gumnaam Hai Koi’ and ‘Mumbai Central’.
His last rites will take on Saturday evening at Mumbai’s Yari Road. The actor is survived by his wife Shoma Anand and daughter Sarah.
Tariq’s wife Shoma Anand has worked in several films including 'Ghar Ek Mandir', 'Judaai', 'Coolie', 'Aag Aur Shola', to name a few. She is fondly known for her performance as Bina Mathur in Ekta Kapoor’s ‘Hum Paanch’. She also acted in shows like ‘Shararat’, ‘Maayka’ and ‘Bhabhi’.
