New Delhi: Abhishek Banerjee, one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood, has won over the audience with his performances. Now, the actor has bagged an award for the ‘funniest performance of the year’, for Janardhan in Amar Kaushik directorial ‘Bhediya’.

Taking to social media, the star shared a picture along with his award and wrote “First award for Bhediya".

"First award for Bhediya. thank you @indiatoday for recognising my performance and thank you @amarkaushik @maddockfilms @officialjiostudios for just making this amazing film. this one is for team Bhediya," the caption read.

With back-to-back spectacular performances, Abhishek Banerjee, who gained fame for his role as Jana in 'Stree', has continued his successful delivery streak.

Abhishek Banerjee was most recently seen portraying Jaffa in 'Rana Naidu, which garnered a great deal of praise from the audience. Several applauded him for being the star of the show and expressed their utter admiration for him throughout the series. Abhishek shared his thought on his character in the show.

"It is by far the most difficult character I have attempted. It was way out of my comfort zone.. lately I have been doing all the UPites and North Indian characters, which made people think I am from Kanpur Ilahabad. But I was looking for something that challenged me more. And I think, whenever you have to get to some kind of diction or like an accent which is not very familiar to you then I think you start thinking about it more. So, to do that was the most challenging part for me," he said.

Abhishek Banerjee will appear in other films in the near future, including 'Dream Girl 2', 'Stree 2', and 'Apurva'.
