New Delhi: The Kargil War was one of the hardest-fought wars in the country’s history, and the 2003 film, ‘LOC: Kargil’ was a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the numerous soldiers who fought in the war. Starring the likes of Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, and Sanjay Dutt, the film featured one of the biggest star casts ever assembled in Bollywood, with several top stars of the era making an appearance.

On the film’s 20th anniversary, Abhishek Bachchan, who played the role of Captain Vikram Batra in LOC: Kargil, took to X (Formerly known as Twitter) to talk about the memories he made while shooting.

He said: “Time flies! Cannot believe it’s been 20 yrs since the release of L.O.C.  Such great memories making the film with so many friends. But an even greater honour to be able to tell the stories of our true heroes in the Indian armed forces. Thank you JP sahab for choosing me and giving me the opportunity to be a part in the film.#20YearsOfLOCKargil”

Abhishek Bachchan’s portrayal of Captain Vikram Batra was the first time this heroic tale was brought to the big screen. Abhishek perfectly captured the martyred captain's humour, charm and selfless spirit, leaving a lasting impact on the audience. Thanking Director J.P. Datta for giving him the opportunity, the Ghoomer actor spoke about how he has many great memories from the film, especially since he was surrounded by so many friends.

Ajay Devgn, who starred in the ensemble alos shared a post on Instagram that read, "#20YearsOFLOCKargil, thank you for the scars that serve as a reminder of the battles fought... grateful for the journey, the memories, and the friends I made along the way ❤️."

As the film ‘LOC: Kargil’ celebrates 20 years, it seems to be the perfect time to remember the sacrifices made by our true heroes in the Indian Armed Forces, whom, as mentioned in the tweet, Abhishek is honoured to have played. Their bravery and sacrifice helped keep our flag flying high.
