New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan made his grand debut with 'Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na' opposite Genela D'Souza in 2008. The romantic comedy film co-starring Prateikh Babbar and Manjari Phadnis received a good response from the fans and critics and it managed to set the box office on fire. Imran managed to win hearts with his roles in 'Delhi Belly', 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' and 'I Hate Luv Storys'. He was last seen romancing Kangana Ranaut in 'Katti Batti', which released in 2015.

Imran Khan's close friend Akshay Oberoi, while talking to Navbharat Times during a Facbeook live session, confirmed that the 'Luck' actor has bid adieu to acting. The two tinsel town stars have remained friends for the last 18 years. Oberoi, who called Khan one his best friend in the industry, said that he sees a write and director inside the 'Kidnap' actor. Akshay also revealed that they studied acting together at Kishore Acting School in Mumbai.



"My best friend in Bollywood is Imran Khan, who is no longer an actor because he has quit acting. See, Imran Khan has left acting at the moment. As far as I know, there is a better writer and director inside Imran, I do not know when he will direct his film himself, I am not going to put any pressure, but as a friend, I think so he will direct his film soon. Also, when Imran directs, I know he will make a wonderful film because his sensibility and understanding of cinema are very high," Akshay Oberoi was quoted as saying by DNA.



Imran Khan's personal life has often grabbed eyeballs. Last month, his wife Avantika Malik posted a cryptic note on social media and it triggered the rumours of their separation. Although, the couple is yet to react to the rumours, gossip mills suggest they are going through a rough patch. Imran and Avantika, who tied the knot in 2011, are parents to Imara Malik Khan.

Talking about Akshay Oberoi, the actor was seen in two web series this year- 'Illegal' and 'Hum Tum and Them'. He will be next seen in 'KTina' starring Disha Patani in a lead role. Akshay made his Bollywood debut with 'Isi Life Mein' opposite Sandeepa Dhar in 2010. Although, the  Vidhi Kasliwal directorial failed to perform at the box office, Akshay Oberoi received appreciation for his performance from the critics.
