Aadujeevitham’s Real-life Najeeb Attends Screening Of Prithviraj’s Film Despite ‘Family Emergency’, Says ‘My Son’s Baby Died…’

'The Goat Life', also known as 'Aadujeevitham', is an adaptation of Benyamin's 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel of the same name.

New Delhi: Najeeb Muhammad, the inspiration for 'Aadujeevitham', saw a screening of 'The Goat Life', a movie based on his life. Prithviraj Sukumaran portrays Najeeb in the survival thriller, a Malayali immigrant worker compelled to work as a goatherd on a remote Saudi Arabian farm.

Najeeb attended the film's premiere which opened to very positive reviews on Thursday. Najeeb praised Prithviraj and hailed his performance as "tremendous," according to Times Now. Najeeb said he attended the premiere of Blessy's film even though he had a family emergency.

“In most scenes, I was crying and in some, I couldn’t bear to watch. A lot of people are sending messages saying that they have booked their tickets and will go to watch the movie… My son’s baby died last week. They asked me to be here, so I am, otherwise I would not have since there is a situation back home. I only want this movie to be a success, everyone should go and watch it,” he was quoted as saying.

The review of the film on ABP Live reads: This film shakes you to the core. It portrays what can happen to someone stuck in another country and leaves you pondering whether leaving your homeland is worth it. The first half is engaging, bringing the issue to light, but whatever happens in the second half is too tough to watch. The struggles for a drop of water, living among animals like one of them — it's all unimaginable until you witness it. Although you may not understand the language of the foreigners, the director ensures you feel Najeeb's pain. The film makes you feel that pain profoundly, reinstating faith in great cinema. However, its only flaw is its length; it feels a bit stretched. 

'The Goat Life', also known as 'Aadujeevitham', is an adaptation of Benyamin's 2008 best-selling Malayalam novel of the same name. It tells the story of Najeeb, who is forced to work as a goatherd against his will and survives in a slave-like manner in the middle of the Saudi desert.
