Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ completed twenty years of release on Friday (June 18). The film starring Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ajay Devgn created ripples upon its release at the box office. The romantic drama managed to set the cash registers jingling, emerging as one of the highest grossing films of 1999. 


Salman Khan, who played the role of Sameer in ‘HDDCS’, shared a throwback photo with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, to mark the milestone. He posted a picture wherein he can be seen smiling while looking at SLB.

The caption for the post read, “Baees saal ho gye #HumDilDeChukeSanam ko.” Bollywood’s bhaijaan tagged Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ajay Devgn but didn’t tag his leading lady in the film, Aishwarya, while sharing the post.

Salman-Aishwarya's Break-Up 


Salman and Aishwarya, who set the screens on fire with their sizzling chemistry in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, started dating each other in 1999. The former couple broke up in 2002. 


Aishwarya dated Vivek Oberoi for a while before calling it quits. The former Miss World tied the knot with her ‘Dhoom 2’ co-star Abhishek Bachchan on April 20, 2007 in an intimate ceremony. The B-town couple is parents to nine-year-old Aaradhya Bachchan.  


The official Instagram handle of Bhansali Productions also shared several throwback snaps from the sets of 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam'. "We experienced a gamut of emotions then and we're experiencing a gamut of emotions now as we open our treasure chest. Celebrating 22 Years of living and loving Vanraj, Nandini & Sameer's testimony of love," the caption read.



Salman Khan's Upcoming Films


On the professional front, Salman was last seen in 'Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai', which released on ZEEPlex and leading DTH platforms on May 13. The film co-starring Disha Patani and Randeep Hooda received scathing reviews from the critics but managed to perform well on OTT.


Khan has several exciting projects in his kitty including 'Kabhie Eid Kabhi Diwali' and 'Tiger 3'.
