New Delhi: Punjabi singer and politician Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead Sunday evening in the Mansa district of Punjab. The death of the 28-year-old Punjabi music sensation has left the industry and his fans in particular shocked. His songs ‘295’ and ‘The Last Ride’ are now trending all over the internet, with Sidhu’s fans and followers finding uncanny similarities between the songs and the circumstances of his death.
Moose Wala started his career in the music industry with the song, ‘G Wagon’, and tasted success with his 2017 hit ‘So High’. His songs ‘Selfmade’, ‘Never Fold’, ‘Devil’, and ‘Goat’ went on to make Sidhu a household name.
Soon after his death, ‘The Last Ride’ and ‘295’ began to trend on social media.
‘The Last Ride’ was reportedly a tribute to Tupac Shakur, a rapper who was shot dead in 1996 in his car at the age of 25. Coincidentally, Sidhu was also shot dead when he was in his car. The song has over 11 million views on YouTube.
The fans and followers are now sharing the relatable lyrics from the song. One user recalled the lines, “Ho Chobbar De Chehre Utte Noor Dassada Ni Ehda Uthuga Jawani Ch Janaja Mithiye”, and provided a translation too: “The light on face of youngster tells his funeral will be in young age (sic).”
The song ‘295’ is also getting huge attention. In the song, Sidhu Moose Wala had expressed his opinion on Section 295 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deals with injuring or defiling a place of worship “with intent to insult the religion of any class”. People found uncanny similarities between the name of the song and the date of his death.

The Punjab Police has said the murder could be a fallout of gang rivalry and blamed Canada-based gangster Goldy Brar and gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi for the crime. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has ordered a probe into his government’s decision to curtail the singer’s security detail.
