Mumbai: Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty has been busy with election campaigning for the party in West Bengal these days. And amid the rising cases of positive cases of COVID-19 in the country, reports started doing rounds that Mithun has tested positive for coronavirus. However, people close to him have refuted the rumour and revealed that the ‘Disco Dancer’ actor tested negative for COVID-19.


When ABP News contacted Mithun Chakraborty’s manager Vijay, he said that the report of the actor testing positive for COVID-19 is completely baseless. Another colleague of Mithun da has also dismissed the report.

Both of them told that Mithun Chakraborty is currently busy shooting for a TV show in Kolkata after he finished campaigning for BJP during the Bengal elections. Mithun Chakraborty is completely healthy and fine.


ABP News also contacted Mithun’s family members regarding the health of the 70-year-old actor. A source close to the family informed, “Dada's health is good and he is completely fine by the mercy of God.”


Another family member told, “Don't know from where this news is coming from and who is spreading such news. People should avoid these kinds of rumours.”


On a related note, due to the crowd gathered in all the election rallies during the recent assembly elections in Bengal, there has been a sudden surge in the number of positive corona cases there. The Madras High Court has also slammed the Election Commission for all the election rallies for the assembly elections.


BJP candidate and singer Babul Supriyo also tested positive for COVID-19 a few days back.
