Mumbai: Vijay Patil, a well-known music composer who gave popular music in many super hit films like 'Maine Pyaar Kiya', 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun', died on Friday night at 2.00 am after suffering a heart attack in Nagpur. The composer passed away at the age of 78.
Confirming the death of his father to ABP News, Vikay Patil’s son Amar Patil told, “My father was not infected with coronavirus. He took the second dose of the Corona vaccine 6-7 days ago. After this, he was feeling feverish and weak. At 2.00 am, he suffered a heart attack and passed away.”
Amar Patil said that the last rites of Vijay Patil will be done in the next 45 minutes in the cremation ground located at Shivaji Chowk near St. Colony of Nagpur.
Vijay Patil was born in the Nagpur city of Maharashtra. His son Amar Patil told ABP News that he had taken his father to his house in Nagpur in October last year due to the growing cases of Corona and since then he was staying there.
Lata Mangeshkar, who worked with Vijay Patil on several movies took to her Twitter and wrote, “Mujhe abhi pata chala ki bahut guni aur lokpriya sangeetkar Ram Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) ji ka swargwas hua. Ye sunke mujhe bahut dukh hua. Wo bahut acche insaan the.Maine unke kai gaane gaaye jo bahut lokpriya hue. Main unko vinamra shraddhanjali arpan karti hun.”
Vijay Patil was also popularly known as Raamlaxman because of duo composers Vijay and Surendra. But soon after signing the 1977 film ‘Agent Vinod’, his partner Raam (Surendra) passed away. Vijay, however, continued to retain his partner’s name in all his compositions. Raamlaxman is known for giving superhit music for several films of Rajshri Productions. He has also composed music in several Hindi and Marathi films of Dada Kondke. He composed music for more than 75 films in Hindi, Marathi and Bhojpuri.
