Indian cricket team's star leg-spinner and Royal Challengers Bangalore's most successful bowler in the IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal, has made a big disclosure in an interview.

Yuzvendra Chahal revealed that he wanted to leave IPL 2021 midway and return back home to his family. Chahal said he had made all plans to take a break from IPL 2021, had it not been suspended as his parents had tested Coronavirus positive and it became difficult for him to concentrate on his game.

"I was planning to take a break from the IPL when I heard the news of my parents getting infected. It was difficult to focus on the game while your parents were alone at home. They tested positive on May 3, and a couple of days later, the tournament got postponed," Chahal revealed in an interview with Sports Tak.

Yuzvendra Chahal was in bio-bubble with his wife Dhanashree Verma when his parents had tested positive for Covid-19 on May 3. Chahal's father K. K. Chahal had to be hospitalized after his health deteriorated due to 'severe symptoms' of Covid-19, while his mother was being treated from home.

"My father's oxygen level dropped to 85-86, and we had to shift him to the hospital. He had returned home yesterday, but his results are still positive. However, the good thing is that his oxygen level is around 95-96, which is quite a sigh of relief for us. It will take him another 7-10 days to recover," he said.

Chahal could not do anything special in IPL 2021 as he bagged only 4 wickets in 7 matches for RCB. The leggie has been picked in the India squad for the Sri Lankan tour for limited-overs series. India's tour of Sri Lanka is important for Chahal. The spinner will aim to make a point to get picked in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup, later this year.
