Lata Mangeshkar’s Death Most Googled News Event Of 2022, Sushmita Sen, Abdu Rozik In Most-Searched Celebs' List

Google has unveiled its annual Year in Search results and the entertainment world is a big part of many of the searches. Singer Lata Mangeshkar’s death was the most googled Indian news in 2022.

New Delhi: Google has unveiled its annual Year in Search results and the entertainment world is a big part of many of the searches. Singer Lata Mangeshkar’s death was the most googled Indian news in 2022 followed by Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala’s death that had shocked the entire country. 

Two more death from the music industry are on the list - KK’s death in May, and Bappi Lahiri’s passing were the eighth and 10th most searched events of 2022.  

Lata Mangeshkar also known as India’s nightingale passed away on February 6 this year. A two-day national mourning was observed in memory of the legendary singer. Just days after Lata Mangeshkar's demise, singer-composer Bappi Lahiri passed away on February 16. 

Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab's Mansa district on May 29 when he was on his way to Jawahar Ke village in Mansa in a jeep with his friend and cousin. His death came as a major shock for his fans and entire country. The singer was hugely popular among the youth. 

Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, suffered a massive cardiac arrest and died on May 31. He was 53.  

Among the most googled Indian movies of 2022 – Brahmastra topped the list followed by KGF: Chapter 2, The Kashmir Files, RRR and Kantara. 

Brahmastra and KGF: Chapter 2 were also among the most-googled trending searches of the year. 

In the top 10 most googled personalities of 2022, four celebrities from entertainment world are on the list. Sushmita Sen was the fifth most googled personality of the year while businessman Lalit Modi was at the fourth spot. 

In July, Lalit Modi shocked everyone when he announced that he is in a relationship with Sushmita Sen. He confirmed that he was dating her and that marriage was on the cards.   

Anjali Arora from 'Lock Upp' and 'Bigg Boss 16' contestant Abdu Rozik are at the sixth and seventh spots on the list. Amber Heard was at the 10th spot owing to her much-publicised trial with Johnny Depp. 

Cricketer Pravin Tambe was the ninth most googled person of the year. A biopic on his life was released in 2022 starring Shreyas Talpade.
