New Delhi: Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi on Thursday raised speculations with his social media post that he has tied the knot with Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen. Modi shared a series of pictures on Twitter, calling the actress his ‘better half’ and describing it as a ‘new beginning’.
He wrote, “Just back in london after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families - not to mention my #betterhalf @sushmitasen47 - a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon.
The internet went berserk as soon as the pictures were posted and people thought the duo are married. Lalit Modi soon clarified with another tweet that he is just dating the actress but marriage is on the cards.
He tweeted, "Just for clarity. Not married - just dating each other. That too it will happen one day."
Sushmita Sen broke up with Rohman Shawl in December 2021 after three years of relationship.
The actress recently opened up about why she never married and chose to be a single mother to her daughters Renee and Alisah in a chat with Twinkle Khanna on a chat show called 'The Icons'.
Sushmita said, "I’ve met some very interesting men in my life, and the only reason I didn’t get married is because they were a letdown. It had nothing to do with my kids. My kids were never in the equation, if anything, they’ve been very gracious. They have accepted people in my life with open arms, given everybody an equal measure of love and respect. It’s the most beautiful thing to watch. I came close to getting married thrice. All three times God saved me. I can’t tell you what disasters followed with their respective lives. God did protect me, but also because God protected these two kids, he can’t let me get into a messy affair.”
Sushmita was last seen in the web series 'Arya' which had two seasons on Disney+Hotstar.
