New Delhi: The second season of the Korean thriller series 'Squid Game' is set to air soon. Eight new actors have recently joined the cast of the second season of a popular show on Netflix. Hwang Dong Hyuk's web series premiered its first season in 2021, and it was a huge hit right away. This time, he will be back as the next season's writer, director, and executive producer.


Photos from the first script reading for 'Squid Game 2' were posted by Netflix on Thursday. Im Siwan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, and Yang Dong Geun are a few of the new cast members who attended the script reading.






Netflix has now added new actors for ‘Squid Game 2’ including Park Gyu-young (Sweet Home), Jo Yu-ri of Iz*One, Kang Ae-sim (Move to Heaven), Lee David (The Fortress and Svaha: The Sixth Finger), Lee Jin-uk (Miss Granny and Sweet Home), BigBang member Choi Seung-hyun (Tazza: The Hidden Card and Commitment), Roh Jae-won (Missing Yoon and Ditto), and Won Ji-an (Heartbeat).


In addition to them, other returning cast members include Lee Byung-hun as the Front Man and Wi Ha-jun as police detective Jun-ho. Along with Lee Jung-jae, Gong Yoo will also return.


Earlier, Soompi reported that filming for 'Squid Game' is expected to start in July. In 2021, on September 17, Squid Game had its premiere on Netflix. For the first season, it received 14 Emmy nods. It won six awards, including a landmark victory for actor Lee Jung Jae, who made history by being the first Asian actor to ever win an Emmy for Best Actor in a Drama.
