BTS Comeback: BTS fans might have to wait longer than expected for the boy band’s comeback. While it was initially planned for the members to reunite in 2025 after completing their mandatory military service, HYBE has now hinted at a potential delay.
BTS to make a comeback in 2026?
During the company's Q3 earnings call on November 5, HYBE CFO Lee Kyung Joon shared details about the group's future plans, revealing that discussions about their 2026 activities are still ongoing.
Kyung Joon stated, "We are still in discussions with the members about activities for 2026, so no projections have been made right now," as reported by Allkpop. He also emphasised that while a BTS reunion would drive massive sales, HYBE expects that the overall revenue from the group may not increase as drastically as before. The agency is also focusing on nurturing new talent and diversifying its income streams.
This strategy reflects HYBE's vision of expanding beyond BTS by promoting newer acts such as SEVENTEEN, TXT, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans, alongside its established supergroup. Despite this, fans were disappointed to hear about the possible delay, especially after HYBE confirmed in 2023 that BTS would resume full group activities in 2025. Some ARMY members have even questioned if the 2025 announcement was simply a “media play” to maintain fan engagement.

ARMY's reaction
Recently, Jin and J-Hope have completed their military service, while RM, V, Suga, Jimin, and Jungkook are expected to return by June 2025. Afterward, it appears the group will take additional time to reorganise before making their official return in 2026.
