Expressing his happiness, Suniel told the media that he is very happy as the function went on really well and the family has something planned up for the reception once the Indian Premier League gets completed given Rahul has work commitments in the cricket league.
The 'Phir Hera Pheri' actor also mentioned that he still remains a father for Rahul like he is for his daughter Athiya and opined that the 'in-law' is a thing of the past.

As per a report in the Times of India, KL Rahul’s baarat will begin from Radisson Hotel, where KL Rahul and his family and friends are staying, and will reach Suniel Shetty's home at 2.30 pm.
As per media reports, the wedding ceremony will see a mix of guests from the film and cricket world. The names of the guest attendees, who would reportedly be an integral part of the lavish event include Jackie Shroff, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, M.S. Dhoni, and Virat Kohli.
Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul want their wedding to be a private affair. 100 guests are expected to attend the wedding in Khandala and the couple has strictly implemented a no-phone policy.
As per the reports doing the rounds, bride and groom Athiya and KL Rahul will don their wedding outfits by ace designer Sabyasachi, who is one of the favourite designers of Bollywood celebrities, especially when it comes to looking extraordinary on their D-day.
It will be interesting to see whether Athiya opts for the traditional red lehenga like Katrina Kaif or the unconventional bridal look in a stunning white and golden lehenga like Alia Bhatt.

New Delhi: KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty are all set to get married. The wedding festivities began with the Sangeet ceremony held on Sunday and will end with the wedding on January 23, 2023. The couple will be getting married in Suniel Shetty's Khandala farmhouse called Jahaan.
Athiya will be styled by celebrity artist Ami Patel , while the groom will be wearing designer Rahul Vijay's attire for the big day. SInce both bride and groom hail from Karnataka, their wedding will happen as per South Indian wedding traditions.
As per reports, a lavish reception will also take place later, however nothing has been finalized yet. The wedding festivities began on January 21 including Sangeet and Mehendi attended by their close friends and family. A grand property has been booked for the guests to stay which is close to the weddig venue.
The wedding guest list is quite grand ( in terms of star power) as Suniel Shetty's close friends and those of KL Rahul and Athiya will be attending. The star-studded event will include Salman Khan, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Kumar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. However, only around 100 people have been invited to the wedding as Athiya wanted a quiet wedding among friends and family.
KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty's Love Story
KL Rahul ad Athiya Shetty reportedly met through a common friend and instantly hit along. The two have been reportedly dating since February 2019 but it was only in December that Rahul posted a picture of them together on his official Instagram handle. The two went to Thailand to ring in the New Year then.
In June 2021, Athiya Shetty was in England while KL Rahul was on India England tour.
In November of the same year, KL made their relationship Instagram official by sharing an adorable picture of the couple and wishing Athiya on her birthday.
In December 2021, Athiya and Rahul made their first public appearance together at the screening of Tadap where they were seen holding hands.
