Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame Karan Mehra and his family has got an anticipatory bail in a domestic violence case filed by the popular TV actor's estranged wife Nisha Rawal.

Earlier this year, a case was registered against Karan and his family members by Nisha, and now  Mehra says it is a great relief that he and his family got anticipatory bail.

Nisha had accused Karan of domestic violence and alleged that he withdrew more than ₹1 crore from her bank account. The actor was arrested immediately back then in June on grounds of assault but was later released on bail.

The case was filed against Karan and his family members -  brother Kunal Mehra, mother Bela Mehra and father Ajay Mehra, under IPC sections 498-A, 377, 406, 323, 504 & 506 r/w Section 34 of Indian Penal Code.

And now as per a leading daily, the actor recently revealed that his family and he have gotten anticipatory bail. He also shared that the anticipatory bail will avoid a potential arrest in the wake of "false accusations" made by Nisha. “These sections mean cruelty with respect to dowry, sexual assault, violence, etc. filed by Nisha against me, my old parents and my younger brother. Although my parents have not even visited Mumbai in last two years,”  told Karan in an interview to a leading daily.

Apart from the domestic violence case, Karan and Nisha are also fighting a legal battle for the custody of their son 4-year-old son Kavish.

Previously, in an interview with BT, Nisha revealed that she sent Karan Mehra a notice asking for zero alimony but the sole custody of their son, Kavish. "I don’t want any alimony. What will he provide me with that I haven’t given him? We built everything together. I started earning at a very young age and supported him throughout even before he became a part of YRKKH. I have done so much work and whoever I collaborated with will vouch for the fact that Karan was in charge of the commercials," Nisha mentioned.
