A few days back #BoycottKapilSharma trended on social media after recently released film 'The Kashmir Files' director Vivek Agnihotri claimed that makers of 'The Kapil Sharma Show' refused to promote his film on the show.

Vivek Agnihotri claimed that Kapil and the team refused to call him on the show for promotions because there is "no big star " in his film.

This led to the netizens bashing Kapil  and the hashtag 'Boycott Kapil Sharma Show' trended on Twitter for several days. Later Kapil refuted the claims on his Twitter saying that there's no truth to Vivek's claim and even urged people not to believe one-sided stories.

And now Anupam Kher has cleared the air surrounding the whole controversy. In a recent interview with a news channel, The Kashmir Files actor Anupam Kher said that he was invited on the show but turned down the request considering the subject matter of the film. Kher said in the interview, "Ye film bari serious hai, I do not want to be a part of the show. But I have to say, Kapil does not have any malice towards us or towards the film."

After Kher cleared the air, Kapil thanked The Kashmir Files actor for clarifying all the false allegations against him.

Kapil Sharma shared a clip of that video on his social media handle and thanked Anupam Kher for clarifying "false allegations" against him. He wrote, "Thank you paji @anupampkher for clarifying all the false allegations against me ❤️🙏 और उन सब दोस्तों का भी शुक्रिया जिन्होंने बिना सच जाने मुझे इतनी मोहब्बत दी 😃 खुश रहिए, मुस्कुराते रहिये 🙏 #thekapilsharmashow #Isupportmyself 🤗 #kapilsharma 🙏" (Thanks to all those friends who gave me immense love without knowing the truth. Stay happy and keep smiling)

The Kashmir Files has been the talk of the town among audiences ever since it was released on March 11. The film stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar and Pallavi Joshi in prominent roles and is getting rave reviews from all quarters.
