New Delhi: The trailer of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga starrer 'Joker: Folie à Deux' is finally out. The new trailer for the upcoming psychological thriller shows Joaquin Phoenix’s return as Arthur Fleck, aka The Joker, the nemesis of Batman. Warner Bros unveiled the first trailer for the sequel on Tuesday. 


Joker: Folie à Deux trailer released 


'Joker: Folie à Deux' is a sequel to Todd Phillips' 2019 film and it sees Arthur joining a new partner-in-crime. Lady Gaga teams up with the cast as Harley Quinn, Arthur's love interest. As their romance blooms in the asylum, they also get ready to wreak havoc on Gotham City.


As the trailer opens we see Arthur locked up in jail, where guards mock him and ask him to share a joke. Soon, Harley enters the scene, playfully pretending to hold a gun to her head. She tells him that she admires his accomplishments and encourages him to break free. Later, we see the couple embark on a wild, chaotic musical journey.

All about Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga's Joker 2


In the first movie, which chronicles the journey of a struggling clown, Arthur Fleck chooses to turn to crime. Pop star Lady Gaga has joined the cast of the musical sequel. According to the synopsis, the forthcoming movie is a drama that takes place in and around Arkham Asylum.


According to The Hollywood Reporter, at CinemaCon, director Phillips talked about the movie and said, “I like to say it’s a movie where music is an essential element. To me that doesn’t veer to far from the first film. (In the first film,) Arthur has music in him. He has a grace to him."


The ensemble cast features Catherine Keener, Jacob Lofland, Harry Lotte, and Brendan Gleeson. The screenplay of the film has been written by Todd Phillips and Scott Silver.


Joker: Folie à Deux or Joker 2 is set to hit the screens on October 4.
