New Delhi: Rumor has it that Johnny Depp who played Captain Jack Sparrow in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films will return to the franchise. Disney has apparently scrapped plans to revive the franchise, so it looks like Johnny won't be making an appearance in any of the planned sequels.
Johnny Depp made his debut in the character of the charming pirate captain in the film The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003 and he went on to reprise the role in a total of four sequels between the years 2006 and 2017. It was alleged, however, that a sixth feature that had been planned was scrapped when Johnny's ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of domestic violence and the charges were taken seriously.
Disney is resuming production, according to a report from last week, after Johnny won a defamation case against Amber.
Fortunately, the actor will soon be reprising his role as Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. There's a catch, though: Depp is said to be reprising his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in a spin-off titled A Day At The Sea. But as of yet, there has been no official word on this report.
Ace Showbiz recently published an article in which they quote the sources linked to the production firm who "debunk an earlier report that said the actor is set to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow." Disney revealed the movie last week, and the working title at the time was ‘A Day at Sea,’ as reported by the British newspaper The Sun.
As per the report, "Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow and is scheduled to start filming at the beginning of February at a top secret location in the UK. Everything is in the early stages and there is still no director attached to the project, which is being called A Day at the. Johnny is expected to do a test shoot in early February before the production gets fully underway.”
The fans hope that the team will soon provide an official report!
