New Delhi: Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan is celebrating her 74th birthday today. Abhishek Bachchan, the actor-son of Jaya Bachchan, sent her a very unique birthday greeting.
A vintage black and white snapshot of a young Jaya dressed in white saree and adorned with a solitary flower in her hair was posted by the Dasvi actress. “Happy Birthday, Ma. Love you." was all he said in the caption.
The legendary actress and politician has also received well wishes from friends and colleagues in the entertainment sector.
Shweta Bachchan, the daughter of Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, uploaded a photo of Jaya Bachchan as an NCC cadet on Instagram. She wrote the caption, “Mother, may you always smile like you’ve made best NCC cadet or like you have a huge plate of crabs to devour.”
Jaya Bachchan's granddaughter also penned a lovely wish for her. A vintage photograph of Jaya, was posted on social media by Navya Nanda. An accompanying red heart followed the words "Happy Birthday Nani" in the picture's upper right corner.
Since she first appeared on the big screen, Jaya Bachchan has been a steadfast advocate for naturalistic acting in films. She made her acting debut in Satyajit Ray's ‘Mahanagar’ and has won several awards, including the Padma Shri and Filmfare Awards.
‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ will be Jaya Bachchan's next film. This film will mark Karan Johar's comeback as director after a long break. The movie stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt as the two protagonists along with Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan.
