New Delhi: A lot of excitement has been building for James Cameron's Avatar sequel, which follows up his 2009 Hollywood blockbuster. The sequel's storyline has been kept under wraps by the film's creators. Disney, on the other hand, released the first trailer for the sequel to the sci-fi series on Wednesday.

The film ‘Avatar’ has been called the most costly ever made. As a result, the sequel to James Cameron's Avatar is widely awaited.

The title of the long-awaited film sequel is set “Avatar: The Way Of Water.”

The minute-long trailer, which had practically no dialogue, was shown at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. The guests were given 3D glasses. It wasn't until they saw the planet's crystal-clear seas and lakes that the exhibitor was able to experience Pandora's stunning beauty from the comfort of their own homes.

International distribution of this sci-fi adventure will begin on December 14 this year, with North American release scheduled for December 16 this year. No details regarding Avatar 2's plot have been released by the film's makers.

The synopsis of the film reads, "Set more than a decade after the events of the first film, Avatar: The Way of Water begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.”

Along with Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore and CCH Pounder, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ stars Cameron, Jon Landau, Edie Falco, Giovanni Ribisi and Edie Falco in James Cameron's directorial debut.
