Suriya's legal drama movie Jai Bhim that was recently released on Amazon Prime Video has been garnering rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday released a statement appreciating the film. He also expressed his admiration for Justice Chandru, whose fight for upholding the human rights of the poor and marginalised inspired Jai Bhim.



Reacting to the CM’s remarks about Jai Bhim, Suriya said, “I am speechless by the heartfelt appreciation of honourable Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. His appreciation has fulfilled the purpose of Jai Bhim.”



Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan also took to his Twitter and wrote, "#JaiBhim The director is stressing the plight of the tribe@tjgnan Adding to the murmurs of the voiceless to the conscience of the general community@Suriya_offl, My heartfelt congratulations to Jyotika and the crew."

Jai Bhim is a thought-provoking story based on true events that happened in the 1990s in Tamil Nadu. Inspired by real-life incidents based on the life of popular advocate and judge - Justice Chandru, it throws light on how he went beyond the call of duty to ensure that justice is served.


The film is written and directed by Tha.Se. Gnanavel and features popular actor Suriya in the lead along with Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Rajisha Vijayan, Manikandan, and Lijo Mol Jose in pivotal roles.
