New Delhi: Supermodel Bella Hadid was recently part of the Victoria’s Secret’s VS Voices Podcast where she opened up quite a bit about her personal life. She revealed details about her past relationships, and explained how they affected her and made her a ‘people pleaser’.

The supermodel revealed during the episode that she has always struggled with maintaining healthy boundaries and that has resulted in her going back to toxic people. This has affected her both personally as well as professionally. She said: “I constantly went back to men – and also, women – that had abused me and that’s where the people-pleasing came in. I started not having boundaries, not only sexually, physically, emotionally, but then it went into my workspace. I began to be a people-pleaser with my job,” Page Six reported, quoting Hadid.

Hadid said she felt that her voice was never heard in her past relationships and stated that she felt the same during her childhood as well. She shared that whether it was her relationships or family, she was told that her voice held lesser value. She revealed that this affected her adult relationships negatively and said: “My nervous system would crash. It was fight or flight.”

The model also shared that one powerful thing that she has found amid all the troubles in her life is shutting down the noise that comes from social media. She takes regular breaks from social media platforms to maintain her peace of mind. She even spoke about her personal issues in an interview with InStyle.
