New Delhi: Idan Amedi, an Israeli actor best known for his portrayal as Sagi Tzur in the television series 'Fauda,' enlisted in the Israeli Defense Force just as his homeland was facing a deadly conflict with Hamas. Amedi conveyed his feelings in an emotive video message in which he discussed his choice to join the army. This comes only a few days after another ‘Fauda’ star, Lior Raz, joined the volunteer organisation and took his place on the front lines of the conflict.

Idan has now joined the active combat force to defend his country against the Hama terrorist attack. The official 'Fauda' series X account posted a video message in which the actor, dressed in a full army suit, reassures his fellow Israeli people. In a heartfelt video message, the actor explained his sudden decision to join the forces.

On camera, 'Fauda' star Idan Amedi can be heard stating, "You'll notice that I'm wearing a somewhat different outfit today. That's not a Fauda scenario, by the way.”

He said further, "Our army was called up on Saturday morning as events in the south of Israel began. All I wanted to tell you is that, alongside horrifying and vicious attacks, where our friends and loved ones were murdered, our morale remains high. "We fully comprehend why we are here. We are here to protect our children, our families, and our homes. We will not surrender until we win."

Amedi's decision to leave the entertainment industry and join the military shows a tremendous feeling of responsibility and unity at a time of hardship.

Meanwhile, according to The Hollywood Reporter, all theatres in Israel are shut. The Israel Defense Forces has ordered a temporary halt to shooting.
