New Delhi: New York City hosted the International Emmys 2023 on November 21. India has garnered a few nominations with Ektaa Kapoor, Vir Das, Shefali Shah, and Jim Sarbh all up for awards in their respective fields. There were a wide variety of 56 nominees from 20 countries in 14 categories this year. ‘The Empress’ won the evening's top prize at the 51st International Emmy Awards.


Shefali Shah came in second place behind Karla Souza of 'La Ca­da [Dive]' for the Emmy for Best Actress. Martin Freeman, a British actor, was honoured for his work in 'The Responder' and earned the award for Best Actor. He was up against 'Rocket Boys' nominee Jim Sarbh.


The Netflix special ‘Vir Das: Landing’ earned Vir Das his second International Emmy nomination. He was up against Le Flambeau, El Encargado, and the third season of Derry Girls. While the third season of the iconic British adolescent comedy ‘Derry Girls’ also won in the category, this was Das' first victory in the segment.
