New Delhi: The reality TV singing show 'Indian Idol 13' is courting controversy again especially after Rito Raba from Arunachal Pradesh failed to qualify to continue further in the show. Netizens have been brutally targeting the show makers and judges for the unfair stance.So much has been the support around Rito, that petitions on online platforms like change.org have been shared to bring Rito back in the form of a wild card contestant on the show.
Audiences of the show had been expecting Rito to make it to the Top 15 contestants round after grueling auditions and tests. However, ever since Rito Raba failed to make it, they have been expressing their disappointment and anger on social media platforms like Twitter.
A netizen wrote, "He is not eliminated because he doesn't need autotune. When the judge is an autotune queen what u can expect."
Another user wrote, "Nowadays nothing is real , In the name of reality shows ( Indian Idol , Saregama and many many more ) there are just looting the audiences and just to gain more viewership ’TRP’ It’s really sad to know our brother RITO RIBA got eliminated in Top 14 #BoycottIndianIdol"another user wrote.
"#boycottindianidol Eliminating fresh voices like Rito Riba...Is this seriously a reality show? They didn't even allow him to sing a Hindi song. And yes plz stop this NEHU-ROHU cringe drama," another comment read.
This is not the first time that 'Indian Idol' has faced backlash from audience and viewers of the show. Earlier, the show's judges have been criticized for being partial. Neha Kakkar has often been called 'too emotional', or a 'sob story' many a times.
Meanwhile, one of the judges of the show, Neha Kakkar is currently in news for her public spat with singer Falguni Pathak. Neha's remix version of Falguni's popular song 'Maine Payal Hai Chankai' was not approved by the latter.
