The ride isn’t over just yet. The iconic Fast & Furious franchise is racing toward its epic finale with Fast 11, and actor-producer Vin Diesel has stirred fan frenzy by teasing the potential return of one of its most beloved characters, Brian O’Conner (played by the late Paul Walker).

During a recent appearance at Fuel Fest, an automotive event in Pomona, California, Vin Diesel surprised fans with major updates on the upcoming installment. Joined by co-stars Tyrese Gibson and Cody Walker, Diesel shared that Universal Studios has tentatively locked April 2027 for the film’s release and is pushing for a conclusion worthy of the franchise’s legacy.

“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast and Furious [in] April 2027?’” Diesel revealed on stage.

But the actor, known for his protective nature over the franchise and its characters, laid out three conditions before giving his nod. “First, to bring the franchise back to LA. The second, to return to car culture and street racing. And third, to reunite Dom and Brian O’Conner,” he said, a statement that left fans visibly stunned.

While it’s not entirely clear how Brian’s character will return, the mention of a reunion with Diesel’s Dominic Toretto has reignited conversations about how the film might honour Paul Walker, who tragically passed away in a 2013 car crash.

Meanwhile, the final chapter of the franchise is still in its early stages, with Universal Pictures eyeing a potential release in spring 2027.
