New Delhi: The first installment of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning has earned more than 50 crore rupees in India. The movie earned its second-highest daily total to date on Sunday with nett earnings of 17 crore. The film starring Tom Cruise as an elite spy, hit theatres last week.
Mission Impossible Earnings At Indian Box Office
According to early estimates, the movie made $17 crore nett on Sunday in India across all languages, according to a Sacnilk.com report. The movie has made a total of 63.20 crore at the box office in India to date. On July 12, the movie opened in theatres, grossing 12.3 crore.
On the second day, it made 8.75 crore less. The movie's box office revenue increased slightly on Friday, rising to 9.15 crore. But the picture got a significant bounce over the weekend and brought in 16 crore on Saturday.
Mission Impossible Worldwide Collection
According to a Bloomberg report, the seventh installment of the action series made $56.2 million over its opening weekend in US and Canadian venues. This contrasts with forecasts of $61 million to $75 million in ticket sales from forecaster Boxoffice Pro for the Friday through Sunday timeframe, according to the report.
Over the course of five days following its July 12 release, the movie made $80 million. The movie's distributor, Paramount Pictures, had estimated $90 million for that period. Data from Comscore Inc. shows that previous Mission: Impossible films made between $44.9 million and $78.8 million in their first five days. According to a statement released by the studio on Sunday, worldwide sales totaled $155 million.
The film has been among the most eagerly awaited films of the year. On Rotten Tomatoes, it received favourable reviews, with critic and audience approval ratings of 96% and 94%, respectively.
