New Delhi: During a performance in Seattle, Taylor Swift had a notable moment when she laughed while singing about forgiving Kanye West. While singing a song, the pop singer couldn't help but laugh at her beef with the rapper. 'This is Why We Can't Have Nice Things', which is popularly thought to be about Swift's conflict with West and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, was performed by Swift on the Seattle leg of her Eras tour.

At Lumen Field in Seattle, Taylor performed the song acoustically while laughing aloud throughout. The 33-year-old let out a big laugh as the audience joined in after singing the phrase "Here's to you, cuz forgiveness is a nice thing to do."

On the original version of the song from her 2017 album 'Reputation', which followed a new dust-up in her connection with West, Swift can be heard laughing and saying the phrase "I can't even say it with a straight face."

The conflict between Taylor and Kanye started at the 2009 VMAs when he cut short her acceptance speech for Best Video by a Female Artist. In the years that followed, the two celebrities seemed to put their differences behind them, but in 2016, Kanye released a song named 'Famous' in which he refers to Taylor as "that bi***." Taylor allegedly gave Kanye permission to use that word in his song. But the singer rejected the claim.

Then, Kim Kardashian—who was then married to West—released a recording of the conversation in which she appears to approve of the song's lyrics and refers to the artist as a "snake" on social media. Swift embraced the "snake" moniker when promoting her album 'Reputation' and included snakes in the tour and promotional visuals.

Both artists released albums in 2020 on the same day—West's album was titled 'Donda' and Swift's was titled 'Folklore'.
