New Delhi: The trailer of Dev Patel's directorial feature film 'Monkey Man', released on Saturday. The film is touted as an action thriller. The more than three-minute-long trailer centres on a guy named Dev's desire for vengeance against the dishonest authorities who killed his mother, Adithi Kalkunte, and who still wrongly target the weak and impoverished.
Inspired by the legend of Hanuman, the film is set in India. In the teaser, Dev's character—who earns a living by getting banged up by well-known boxers for money—is shown. He dons a gorilla mask for the battle. The trailer also has flashbacks showing Dev playing with his mother and learning of her death. He discovers ways to exact revenge on people who robbed him of everything as he gets older.
Sobhita Dhulipala, who makes her Hollywood debut with the film, shared an Instagram post on Friday night. Sharing the trailer of 'Monkey Man', the 'Made In Heaven' actress captioned it as, "An absolute joy to share the trailer of my debut Hollywood film #MonkeyMan 🪷🔥🐦⬛
